Isaiah 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news,

who publishes peace, who brings good news of happiness, who publishes salvation, who says to Zion, “Your God reigns.”

The noble task of preaching

I am so thankful that God allows me to preach, though insignificant and weak that I am. I thank Him that He allows me to understand His Word and to explain it powerfully to others. It is His good pleasure, and I have nothing to do with it. He is the Ultimate Author, of course, even though I commit exegetical errors sometimes.

“To me, the work of preaching is the highest and greatest and the most glorious calling to which anyone can ever be called.” Says a great preacher, the late D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones.

I couldn’t agree more, knowing that the greatest and most urgent need of man is to have the wrath of God be removed from him (Eph. 2:3). The first medicine then is to hear the Gospel. But how could the Gospel be known, if it is not heard, and how could it be heard, if there is no one to preach it? (Rom. 10: 14)
